First Steps
When you’re ready to take the next step in getting a Labiaplasty in Hawaii, the first step is to contact Mommy Makeover Hawaii and schedule a consultation. When you come in and meet with Dr. Larry Schlesinger, he will listen to your concerns and aesthetic goals, answer any questions you might have, and evaluate your current situation. On the day of your Labiaplasty, we will first provide you with anesthesia, and depending on what is discussed during your consultation and how in-depth the procedure is, could be local anesthesia, intravenous sedation, or general anesthesia. Dr. Schlesinger will then trim the excess skin from your labia, which can be your labia majora, labia minora, or a combination, to help you achieve your desired appearance. Once the surgery is complete, the proper bandages and sutures will be applied before you are released.
You should have someone available to take you home to recover and be able to assist you during the first few days of recovery. Dr. Schlesinger will prescribe you an antibiotic to reduce pain and inflammation. Your genitals will most likely be very sensitive and will require proper care, and you should try to avoid long showers, patting the wound dry every time after washing. We strongly encourage avoiding excessive exercise, such as running, biking, etc., to prevent pressure on the wound that will delay your healing process. You will also want to avoid wearing any tight clothing or undergarments that causes friction against the wound. Sexual intercourse should also be avoided for at least four weeks or until Dr. Schlesinger says you’re good to go.
